Kentucky artist Judith Egerton experiments with the organic qualities of watercolors and alcohol inks. With nature as inspiration, she uses these versatile pigments in a fresh, often surprising, sometimes whimsical way. Blending artistic intention with the spontaneous action of the mediums, she creates works that reflect her observations of our world.

Her paintings have been exhibited at the Kentucky Watercolor Society’s national Aqueous event, the Kentucky Governor’s Derby show in the state Capitol and at other regional shows and galleries.

Egerton is a former board member of KWS and a University of Kentucky graduate who worked more than 30 years as a newspaper journalist. She was honored with a Kentucky Governor’s Award for her work as an arts writer and theater critic at The Courier-Journal of Louisville.
